PLEASE NOTE:
This lamp provides longwave light from a small bulb on one end. That longwave light is easily visible but is not adequate to properly view tagging on stamps of some countries. For those countries, you will need to view the item with shortwave UV light that comes from the long tube under the lens cover on one of the long sides of the lamp. Do not remove the lens cover except to replace the shortwave tube, which you will probably never have to do. The shortwave tube produces UV light that appears in room light like a very dimly lit flourescent tube. For particularly difficult tagging, use in a dimly lit or dark room. Tagging on the stamp will be easily identifiable under these conditions.
